Description
The Ekinex® EK-GPS-1 is an external GPS receiver module engineered to capture date, time, and geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) from the Global Positioning System satellites.
Specifically developed for use in combination with the Ekinex EK-TM1-TP digital time/astronomical switch, the module shares satellite-synchronized data across an RS-485 communication line to guarantee absolute timekeeping precision and flawless astronomical scheduling at all times.
Engineered with an IP54-rated weatherproof enclosure, the device is suitable for outdoor installation. It can be fastened directly onto exterior walls or mounted onto a pole using the dedicated bracket adapter supplied in the package.
A multi-colour LED (red, green, and orange) situated beneath the protective casing delivers comprehensive optical feedback on satellite reception quality, the number of satellites acquired, and bus transmission status. In addition, an internal push-button allows immediate, manual dispatch of timing data over the RS-485 bus.

- Screw terminals for 12 Vdc auxiliary power supply and RS-485 serial communication line
- Bottom cable gland entry suitable for flexible conductors (0.75 ÷ 1.5 mm²)

Configuration and Commissioning
Not necessary (Plug & Play). Once wired to the EK-TM1-TP switch and powered, the unit automatically locks onto GPS satellites and transmits time and coordinate data without requiring software programming.
